Temporary Adjustment Of Total station

توتال ستيشن Today i am writing about the Temporary Adjustment Of Total station as you know that last time I published a post about the Remote Elevation Measurement on Total Station , some of my website viewers comment about to make a guide about Temporary Adjustment Of Total station . So i make a simple and easy post about Temporary Adjustment Of Total station in which i explain you all about Adjustment Of Total station .

Temporary Adjustment Of Total station Practical.

Following actions are to be done before e taking any Reading with a total station . In other words the steps for temporary adjustment of a total station are as follows

Setting up the tripod
Battery attachment
Connection data recorder
Centering
Leveling
Sighting

Setting up the tripod for Temporary Adjustment Of Total station

Temporary Adjustment of Total Station
For the installation of tripod following steps are followed

The legs of the tripod are opened suitable to place the total station on it .
the station point is brought in the middle of the head of the tripod
the head of the tripod is leveled by correcting the distance between three legs of the tripod .
all the three legs are drawn firmly in the ground .
the nuts of the tripod are tightened which makes the legs small or big as required.
The total station is fixed on the tripod.

Battery attachment

The battery supplies power to the total station for its working . the battery should be charged fully before connecting to the total station . Some instrument have a handle battery attached to them . But is not so powerful as required . A separate battery is required in this case .That is if an instrument is working with the handle battery then an external battery needs to be attached .In such case the handle battery stops automatically .The method of connection is given in the following figure :

CENTRING

The exact setting of the instrument above the marks of station for it on the ground is called cantering .this done is two ways ;

BY Plumb Bob
BY Optical Plummet

BY PLUMB BOB

To centering with the help of a plumb bob , the bob is hanged with suitable length by the hood attached at the center of the instrument . The bob is brought at the center of the Peg at the station point . For this purpose the screw attached with the leg is loosened . This screw is tightened when the end of the bob is at the center of the peg.Temporary Adjustment of Total Station

BY OPTICAL PLUMMET.

In this method the center of the instrument is brought at the center of the peg by seeing through the centering vane . For this also the screw of the leg is first loosened and the tightened again as in the above case (a)

LEVELLING

The telescope is brought parallel to the two leveling screw .Then these two foot screw are moved inward or outward . It is done to bring the bubble of the bubble tube at the center . Then the telescope is rotated to bring it on the third foot – screw .Then this screw is rotated to bring the bubble at the centre .Then the telescope is again rotated and brought parallel to the other pair of foot screws , and the above process is repeated . Then the bubble is checked by moving the telescope a little .If the bubble remains at the centre then the leveling is O.K .If not then the whole process needs repetition. When the centring is complete then the bubble line is parallel to the horizontal line.

SIGHTING .

The eye-piece and the object glass are set in correct position .This action is known as focusing . if it is not correct then the target moves along with the eye if the target is seen through the telescope . This phenomenon is called Parallax .Following action are done to remove the parallax
Focusing of the eye-piece
Focusing of the objective
